(NEW TECUMSETH, ON)- Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint, leading officers to charge a driver with impaired operation.
On April 30, 2025, shortly after 11:30 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Victoria Street East, in the Town of New Tecumseth. The vehicle was described as being operated in a concerning manner. Officers located the vehicle and met with the driver. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the drivers ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to the drivers arrest.
As a result of the investigation, Sharon URDZINS 42-years-old of Alliston was charged with:
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Operation while impaired alcohol
Having care or control of motor vehicle with liquor in open baggage
Possess more than one licence
The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on May 29, 2025, to answer to the charge. The drivers licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.
