PALMER Arrested Drunk Driving

(ORILLIA, ON) Members from the Central Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team, with assistance from the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a RIDE program on Neywash Street in Orillia, resulting in the impaired charges for a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) operator.
On Monday, January 12, at approximately 11:50 pm, TIME Team officers stopped a commercial motor vehicle during the RIDE program and determined the driver had consumed alcohol, contrary to zero-tolerance requirements for CMV operators.
As a result of the investigation, David PALMER, 50-years old of Orillia, has been charged with:
Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
Drive commercial vehicle improper licence
Fail to carry complete daily inspection report
The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, CMV operators suspension, and the CMV was impounded for seven days.
The accused is schedule to attend court in Orillia on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to answer to the charges.
